The project - stage 3

The school is ready - inauguration on September 29, 2010

Under the supervision of Father Zocco SJ and the professional support of a young French civil engineer, Jérémy, who was doing his voluntary social work in the episcopal administration of Fianarantsoa, the school building was built in the record time of 4 months. We were regularly informed about the progress of the construction work by e-mail and with photos, and above all when there were repeated supply bottlenecks with building materials, we then had to use appropriate "incentives" to ensure that the construction site did not come to a standstill. This enabled the ambitious schedule to be met.

After questioning the ancestors and taking into account the position of the moon, the village elders calculated September 29, 2010 as the favorable day for the inauguration.

We set off again, our 20-hour journey to Antananarivo, with a change in Paris, and the very next day with the off-road vehicle on the 10-hour journey to Fianarantsoa. After we had convinced ourselves on site in Ambalafenomby that the school was really finished, we use the next day for shopping in order to be able to host a festival for the expected 200-300 villagers.

After the consecration by the Vicar General and the traditional "fomba" ceremony by the village elders, the doors were then opened and the village took possession of "his" school.
