Welcome!

The Röhl – Vintana Foundation:
to ensure sustainabilityof the school project Ambalafenomby.

The Ambalafenomby school project has developed an unexpected momentum of its own.

At first it was just a matter of providing new school desks, then the necessary teaching materials were procured, all students were provided with school uniforms and finally the new school building was erected.

We quickly realized, based also on the experience of other school projects in the country, that success at school would depend to a large extent on the children getting something to eat regularly.

So we planned to build the school canteen.

However, the basic hygienic prerequisite for this is the availability of clean, running water. Therefore, before building the canteen, the water supply for the village had to be tapped and built.

The infrastructure is now in place, but operation must be ensured in the long term.

That's why we have the foundation

"Röhl - Vintana" (vintana = Malagasy for chance) (see also:

(https://madagaskar.de) was founded, equipped with capital that meets the requirements of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for community foundations, from whose income and hoped-for tax-deductible donations from third parties the school's operations are to be secured in the long term.

The "Ravinala palm" chosen as a symbol, also known as the "traveller's tree", stands for "opportunity" - it shows the wanderer in the savannah the way, because its palm fronds always point in a west-east direction and are stored in their leaves them several liters of fresh water.
